The following are inspired by these mice. The one on the right has ribs from the neck to tail. A REAL scientist came and talked with Cindi about what she does. (Vinagre et al., Dev. Cell., 2010)
THE MOUSE WITH RIBS
by Cindi
The mouse was blue.
He grew and grew.
The ribs he had.
Were big and bad.
He had a gene changed.
They were rearranged.
he made a stink.
He wanted to be pink.
THE MOUSE WITH RIBS
by Cindi
THERE WAS A MOUSE WITH MANY RIBS WAS CRAZY. HE WAS A BLUE MOUSE WITH MANY RIBS. HE HAD NO SELF CONTROL SO HE WAS CONSIDERED AN AUTISTIC MOUSE. HIS CREATOR WAS A MAD SCIENTIST NAMED LARA. HE WAS SO BLUE THAT HE HIT HIS HEAD ON TABLE WHEN HE NOTICED HIS SKIN. HIS MOM MADE HIM GET AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE HE COULD NOT CALM HIMSELF. IN THE END HE WAS MADE HIS MOM'S WORST KID BECAUSE HE DID NOT CONTROL HIMSELF.
THE END!
Story by Lara and CINDI
Once upon a time a brother and sister were out playing down by the stream when the girl found a peculiar box.
THE BOX WAS GREEN LIKE A UFO. IT WAS SO MUCH LIKE ONE THAT SHE SCREAMED.
"Don't be afraid," said the boy, who was very curious, "let's see if we can get inside it."
"I DON'T WANT TO!" SCREAMED THE SCARED GIRL.
"But the boy was already searching for an opening. There is no opening," said the boy.
SHE CRIED, "NO NO STOP! YOU WILL NEVER GET OUT IF YOU GO IN!"
But just then a sound came from the box and a hatch opened from what had appeared to be just a smooth side.
"HOLY COW!" SCREAMED THE GIRL, "RUN AWAY!"
A blue face appeared at the hatch and twitched it's whiskers.
"WHAT IN THE WORLD!" SAID THE BOY. "THIS IS COOL!"
"Have you got any cheese?" squeaked the blue creature.
"IT IS THE BLUE MOUSE WITH MANY RIBS!" SAID THE BOY, "ALL IS WELL."
On Autism and Neuro-typical's
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEURO-TYPICAL AND AUTISM IS NOT MUCH. NEURO-TYPICALS ARE NOT COMMONLY BRIGHT AS TO WHAT THE AUTISTICS IS EXPERIENCING. I THINK I HAVE AN IDEA AS TO HOW NEURO-TYPICALS THINK. THE NEURO-TYPICAL HAS A MELT DOWN AND THE AUTISTIC GETS IT. THE AUTISTIC HAS A MELT DOWN AND THE NEUROTYPICAL IS CONFUSED.
AUTISTICS ARE HAVING A MELT DOWN FOR A REASON. IT IS NOT JUST AUTISM. THE AUTISTIC IS HAVING A PROBLEM. SHE CAN'T GET BODY TO COOPERATE. SHE NEEDS YOUR HELP GETTING IN CONTROL, NOT YOUR JUDGMENT.
MY TEACHER USUALLY GETS THIS BUT NOT ALWAYS. I THINK SHE ALWAYS GETS IT BUT DOES NOT ALWAYS ACT LIKE IT.
